I have neglected my blog for a very long time. It's the time that is an issue. I'm busy with life and daily activities. Creating takes a lot of my thought processes that seem to overwhelm my time. So blogging is the last thing I think about. I love working with gourds, and I love Zentangle. But it's rather nice to simply enjoy my experiences without putting pressure on myself to format them into a blog post.
You don't have to be an artist to create mini works of art with the Zentangle method. Zentangle on a gourd.

Dream

Playing with letters, inspired by Joanne Fink's Zenspirations. www.zenspirations.com.
I used Copic markers for color. I realized after the piece was completed that my dangles are swaying a bit. I'll do another.

Wuertz Gourd Festival Classes

This was my very first gourd class. Maria Dellos was the instructor and the class was great. Thank you Maria. You can see more of Maria's art at www.mariasartcreations.com.
The gourds have the designed burned into the gourd, then we used inks, and paints to add color. A few turqoise stones on the lizard.

The second class was learning how to weave pine needles as a design element, around the opening of the gourd. Then using a variety of dried botanicals as embellishments. Thank you Arlene Zaloznik. You can see more of her work on her website at www.azbaskets.net.
